Media Player Only

GarlicTV is a media player application for iOS and Android. It functions as a front-end interface for playing media files and streams, comparable to VLC, Kodi, mpv, or Infuse. GarlicTV does not provide, host, index, or distribute any media content, and there is no web streaming service.

Third-Party Plugins

GarlicTV supports a plugin architecture (Stremio addon ecosystem) that allows the community to create extensions. These plugins are independently developed, hosted, and maintained by their respective creators. GarlicTV:

  • Has no control over the functionality or content of any third-party plugin
  • Does not pre-install any plugins that provide media content
  • Does not profit from any specific plugin's usage
  • Cannot modify, disable, or control plugins after a user installs them

No Content Hosting

GarlicTV operates no servers that store or transmit media content. The application connects only to its own authentication and sync infrastructure (user accounts, watch progress, library data). Any media playback occurs via URLs provided by user-installed third-party plugins, over which GarlicTV has no control.

Debrid Proxy

Pro subscribers have access to a TorBox debrid proxy operated by GarlicTV. This proxy resolves debrid links via a shared API key that is never exposed to client devices. GarlicTV is not a torrent indexer and does not curate or provide links to any content; the proxy only resolves links that plugins surface to the player.

User Responsibility

Users are solely responsible for the plugins they install and the content they access. GarlicTV does not monitor, filter, or moderate plugin content. Users must independently evaluate third-party plugins and ensure compliance with their local laws.

Informational Purpose

This disclaimer is provided for informational purposes only and does not constitute legal advice. If you have specific legal questions, consult a qualified attorney in your jurisdiction.

Open Source

GarlicTV is open-source software licensed under GPL-3.0. The complete source code is publicly available for inspection at github.com/nategarelik/garlicTV. This transparency allows anyone to verify that the application does not contain any content-hosting or content-distribution functionality.
